Another great blog find…

In scouring the Internet I have been finding some great blogs, like the one from our new friend JenX.   Today’s find is a blog called junkdrawer67 and is written by early 40’s GenXer who spends considerable time reading and giving thoughtful reviews of various books and articles.

One book he recently reviewed was “Bright-Sided: How the relentless promotion of positive thinking has underminded America,” by Barbara Ehrenreich.  I had heard something about this recently on the radio and I think junkdrawer67’s review is spot on.  Ehrenreich makes the assertion that in the past several years America has developed a trend of often self-delusional thoughts of optimism.    I’m not going to rehash what junkdrawer67 has already pointed out.

I know what you are thinking, there is nothing wrong with a little positive thinking, but lets not bullshit ourselves people!  (we have the government for that).  Take a minute to give it a read. ~cg
